Abstract images of sex toys in imaginary surroundings. As the light shines, shapes form and disappear in the shadows. The originals maybe instruments of desire, of play and / or of pain, but in the half light, everything is not always what it seems. The Fetichegram's final image may tap in to moments in time, memories of lustful thoughts, carnal knowledge with oodles of tongue lashings or perhaps, provide a desert for further erotic encounters.

Background: The Fetichegrams step into the dark and doff their collective top hat to those early 20th century surrealists, most notably Man Ray. On display here are a selection of images from both Series 1 and 2. The processes of the Fetichegram (like shadow catchers) do not require a camera, only the light and chemistry for the objects to create their own space. These camera-less fotos have their foundings in photograms and take the rayograms to the next stage. For Series 2, further changes were made to the paper's surface with the addition of a variable tint.

Without a camera, one brings together traces, fragments, signs, memories or dreams, these fotos leave room for the imagination and transform the world of objects into a world of erotic visions.

To date, Steve DT has exhibited Series 2 (in various incarnations) three times; firstly in Atlanta (USA) at Cyberotika 2004, secondly as a larger solo show in Brighton (UK) in 2005, gaining further press and public interest.
