SG: And sex toys in imaginary surroundings is the subject of a new exhibition opening in Kemp town. It's the latest erotic show from the Hove based photographer Steve DT, whose photography is said to taunt and tease the viewer. Steve joins me on the line now to tell us more.
SG: Sounds interesting Steve!
sdt: Hello Sarah. Yes I hope it is. It was lots of fun producing it.
SG: It sounds quite shocking but it's not really is it?
sdt: No, it's not graphic at all. It's basically, purely abstract creations using sex toys, in the manner of the playful surrealists of the 20's and 30's. And it's not about the toys, but the interaction between them. And as I said, not graphic at all.
SG: I just wonder where people like you come up with these ideas in the first place?
sdt: Ahm, strange, I don't know. Maybe the midnight hour, burning the candle at both ends, who knows.
SG: Inside your head must be a very interesting place to be?
sdt: I'll take that as a compliment. It tends to be that my work is a combination of erotica and social documentary. I've done other exhibitions and they've had those sort of inclinations. And yeah, that's what it tends to be, that . . . and the midnight oil.
SG: Thank you very much. Good luck with that. That's Hove based Steve DT joining us on the line.
